The Launch Of Big Riddim Recordings
AK1200 is proud to present the launch of Big Riddim Recordings. Having worked with many labels in the past, most
recently, Moving Shadow, the time has come for AK to create a vehicle for himself to continue his long line of artist
development and contributions to the stability of electronic music’s future. In days like these when the music industry
seems to be at its most challenging state, the time seems right, now more than ever, for AK to do all he can to help
preserve the future of Drum and Bass Music worldwide. His experience and credentials alone can attest to the
quality this label will bring, and is sure to quickly become one of the top independent dance labels of our time.
Physical Distribution for Big Riddim will be under the care of Nu-Urban, one of the world’s leading dnb distributors
while digital distribution will be via BIg Riddim partner label dPulse Recordings. dPulse releases are currently
distributed worldwide via INgrooves/UMGD, Sony, Cargo Records Germany, and others.
With 8 singles already penned for release, you can expect Big Riddim Recordings to be as active as labels once used
to be, releasing things in a timely manner, and not holding back for the elitist dubplate culture that some feel have helped
poison our scene. Big Riddim is proud to present to you the first 3 releases on schedule which will come 3 to 4 weeks apart.
BRR001 - Tech Itch and Kemal - The Calling
A. Evol Intent and Ewun remix (fast)
B. Evol Intent and Ewun remix (slow)
This absolute smasher of a remix has yet to see the light of day as a stand alone release, and has previously only been
available in mixed format on Dieselboy’s Substance D mix cd. To keep things fresh, we have commissioned the boys to
do another mix for us, this time appealing to the dubstep and electro crowds. This release is sure to blow off the shelves
and establish the credibility of the label right from the start.
BRR002 - The Clique
A. Mountain High
B. The Spot
The Clique are a duo out of California who’s talent and music speak for itself, and are an exclusive signing to the label
with AK personally helping to steer their careers into full force. The Clique will no doubt soon become amongst the elite
in DnB artists, and this first release by them will show why. Mountain HIgh is a jumpy roller with lush female vocals and
blistering bass hits that carry the tune into a dance floor dream suitable for the ladies. The Spot is a more aggressive
jump up crowd pleaser sure to wreak havoc on any floor.
BRR003 - Muffler
A. Falling 2009
B. The Moment
Muffler is an already well known and respected artist with tons of successful releases. His first of two signed releases
comes in the form of Falling 2009, a new take on an earlier tune he released on Moving Shadow, which is sure to please
fans of all forms of DnB.The Moment , much of the same, is a virtual sound scape with melodic piano riffs and swirling
pads, and a feel of warmth just in time for the winter cold. We expect big things from Muffler in regard to the label.
There you have it, a glimpse into the first 3 releases, and much more to come, including a repress of Digital’s remix of
AK1200’s Juniors Tune, with a brand new Zardonic remix on the flip. Two new remixes of AK1200’s Fake featuring
Terra Deva, this time the honors going to The Clique and NC-17. Also a release from GENR8, another from Muffler
and much more from The Clique. And this is just the beginning. Big things to come for Big Riddims.
